Dr. Nitya Balan has over 30 years of experience in dentistry and has been consistently rated among the top dentists in Austin by her patients and insurance providers. She is known for her compassionate, gentle, patient-friendly chair-side manner. Her experiences as a child in the dental chair taught her to treat patients with the least discomfort possible and to be sensitive to patient needs. 

She graduated from The Ohio State University with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2002 and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Prior to that, she completed her first dentistry degree in India in 1994 before coming to the USA. She has practiced in Ohio and Arizona, and now in Austin. As a former Buckeye, she now enthusiastically embraces the Longhorns! 

Her expansive experience and knowledge in all aspects of dentistry allow her to be extremely flexible in her treatment plan with a comprehensive, cost-effective approach. She is also multilingual, speaking Tamil, Hindi, and English with ease. 

Dr. Balan has been married for over 20 years and has twin children. She spends her time taking care of patients and family while continuing her education into restorative dentistry.
